- The Rokain are a species of humanoids now believed to be extinct that had a very militarist society blended with a highly sophisticated work force and an artistic flair for creating simplistic yet astounding things of beauty.

History
Historians and archeologists have been able to determine the following facts in regards to the Rokain species who were the native inhabitants of the nation of Rokai on the planet of Tartaras V.
At the time that they vanished from their world approximately 1,750 years ago it would appear that they were divided into 7 groups or nations with the Rokai being the largest and most powerful controlling over 1/3rd of their entire population.
These nations seemed to be in a fairly constant state of war waging battles with primitive weapons such as swords, bows, axes and spears. Most of these battles seemed to be fought on land and used highly trained military forces and complex tactics.
So far no archaeological evidence has been discovered to indicate why the Rokain civilization just suddenly seemed to vanish from their world.
Government
They were divided into 7 groups or nations with the Rokai being the largest and most powerful. Each of these nations was ruled by what appears to have been a royal family headed up by a military leader who had the power of life and death over all of his subjects and was some kind of religious figurehead.
Description
Based on the examination of skeletal remains and those visual art works that have survived they were typical humanoids in appearance but with a slightly shorter stature being between 5’5” and 5’9” on average.
Physiology
Very little remains of their medical data. However based on what little has been discovered and translated they had a highly skilled and well trained cadre of medical experts well versed in treating battle field injuries and the more mundane and common place ailments and injuries.
As with most intelligent humanoid species they have a very complex system with specialized organs, and unique hormones, chemicals and enzymes. They are typical humanoids with most of the physical, mental and biological medical problems that seem to plague most humanoids.
Psychology
No data has survived regarding this aspect of their medical history.
Religion
It would seem their leaders were considered to be divine beings, the offspring of the gods, the children of a pantheon of gods and goddesses who ruled with an iron fist.
Mythology
Most evidence would seem to indicate that they had a vast and complex series of tales, myths and legends. Enough have survived to indicate that they had a large and varied pantheon of gods and goddesses as well as a number of supernatural monsters, demons and creatures.
Society
Based on the data gathered to date most historians and archeologists have determined that they had a well-organized and efficient organization, not only to city design, construction and planning but to the provision of supplies and infrastructure. Buildings were well constructed using both stone and wood.
Their society seems to have been divided up into 7 classes, the warrior class, farmer class, artisan class, workers class, builder’s class, noble class and the official’s class.
Culture
They produced pottery of exquisite craftsmanship, fragile yet decorated with an artistic simplicity that managed to combine color with realism that make each bowl, cup and plate into works of art. Also discovered in various archeological digs have been thousands of highly detailed sculptures, most of them of people, gods or mythic creatures.
Customs
Since the vast majority of all their data was recorded on a kind of papyrus it is unknown what if any customs they might have had were. However based on the surviving art works it is suspected that different classes may have each had their own set of customs.
Technology
At the time that they vanished from their world approximately 1,750 years ago they had reached a level of technology that allowed them to build ships powered by wind that could travel across any and all of their oceans.
They had windmills, water powered wheels and a fairly sophisticated understanding of construction, agriculture and infrastructure organization. On top of that they had mastered the creation of complex metallurgic compounds that allowed them to produce metal armor and weapons of superior tensile strength, flexibility and durability.
Economy
Even considering the constant state of war that they seemed to be in their seems to have been a large amount of trade going on. Artifacts and materials discovered would seem to indicate that large amounts of cargo were being transported on a regular basis between numerous communities and different nations.
Military
They had a very disciplined and highly trained military force which seems to have been considered a separate class with in their society. All warriors were equipped the same with complex, efficient body armor made of a high tensile steel compound. All of their weapons were made of the same material and each warrior carried multiple weapons.
Federation Intelligence Files
An archaeological expedition uncovered the ruins of a Rokai provincial capital in 2369. This discovery opened a chance for finding Rokain artifacts, which attracted Quark's and Vash's attention.
