Nelson Ridgely has often been looked upon as a coward. He is not, really, he just acts that way. Always one to stay away from the action, to look for the uninteresting assignments, Ridgely has spent most of his life studying and practicing the law. He grew up on Cestus III, made famous by the Federation's encounters with the Gorn. Being that close to hostility, realized or not, may have traumatized Nelson as a child.

He realizes most people's views of lawyers, but also knows how much they are still a necessary part of society. When in action in the courtroom, or advising clients, he shows no fear. Those are his arenas, where he feels the most comfortable and in control. He is uncertain of his situation now, however, being the only JAG officer assigned to DS26.

Personality & Appearance

Nelson Ridgely is 180 cm and weighs about 70 kg. He has light brown hair, and hazel colored eyes. He is not shy, but tends to avoid people. He knows his job, and does it well, but feels that people generally do not like, nor trust, lawyers. Thus he has decided that if they want him to stay out of their way, he will. When people need his help, though, he holds no grudges and gives it willingly.
