Fleet Update

I'm pleased to announce that this month we have seen the launch of a new vessel within our fleet. The USS Magellan has launched under Commander Ka'el Laang. Commander Laang takes his crew from the USS Isannah to launch the Magellan which is of the new Magellan class design. The Magellan class is a brand new design specific to UFOP- more information can be found in the 'fleet vessels' section of the UFOP website.

I am also pleased to announce that applications to the group are still steadily flowing in, and our training department is running smoothly under Commander Y'Shirad. We are now in a position to launch another new vessel, and Commander Alucard, former first officer of the Isannah, is undergoing his captaincy training on board the USS Isannah (which has become a command training vessel, now that its former crew have moved onto the Magellan).

I am also delighted to be able to announce the return of Captain Allen O'Malley, commanding officer of the USS Hammond, who has been away for a couple of months on a leave of absence. He was sorely missed by both his crew and the UFOP command team during his leave and I am sure you will all join me in welcoming him back to the group.

On another happy note, the promotion assessments of several of our commanders have now been completed and I can tell you now that the UEC will have the pleasure of promoting several officers to captain, once we can get them back to Starbase118 for the ceremony.

Overall February has been a positive month for the group and the UFOP fleet; a month for settling back into a steady routine after a rather hectic Christmas period. I am personally very happy to see our new ship launch and Commander Alucard begin his training with a new crew. That's all good news for our fleet.

In closing I would like to ask you all, as always, to tell your friends about us and keep that membership figure rising!
