Regan Wilde is a loud and proud character. Friendly and popular among his crew mates, he thrives on the social aspects of life in Starfleet. He is a confident, hands-on character who will help anyone in need and is fiercely loyal to his friends. He had a reputation of being a typical 'fly boy' at the academy since he excelled in piloting, as well as advanced tactical classes and was considered one of the best pilots of the Class of '97. He came top of the class in advanced tactical piloting and considers flying his first love and one of the only things he's truly good at.

His mannerisms mix from being masculine when he's on duty in security - or in a red alert situation - to very slightly feminine when he's in a good mood or gossiping on the bridge when there's nothing else going on. He's very forthright and flirty with other men, regardless of rank. This is usually a character test to see how they will treat Regan in the future. Though he takes his duties very seriously, he has a naturally boyish personality, and has been described by others as having the personal behaviour of a reckless teenager.

Regan is very much open about his sexuality, and was considered to be quite promiscuous in his early life and at the academy. He's usually very flirty with people and tends to wear his heart on his sleeve, as well as capitalize on his looks. He's overly-confident in himself to chat up potential dates, but his vanity and narcissism gets him rather annoyed if they don't find him irresistible. Despite his open personality he has never had a serious relationship of more than a few weeks in his life. He was dismayed at being assigned to the Arrow - which has no holodecks - and feared that it would harm his sex life, since according to Regan, "it's just easier with holograms".

Though the economics of the 24th century and of the Federation place no value in financial gain or assets, money is still used in the form of gold-pressed latinum, and the Wilde family come from 'old money' and ancient English peerage. As such they come from ancestral 'high society' and are, as Regan describes it, "disgustingly rich". The family business, Wilde Industries, manufactures computer cores and engine parts for Starfleet and other Alpha Quadrant races. Latinum played a big part of Regan's childhood, and gained him a reputation for being a spoiled brat and a playboy. He hates this aspect to his personality and tries hard to get away from it now he's a Starfleet officer. He is frequently generous with his wealth and won't hesitate splashing out on extravagant gifts for friends. His only vice is that he still buys expensive clothes for himself, and once claimed that he put his favourite Bolian tailors children through college with the amount of clothing he bought.

* '''Battle with Alcoholism'''
* '''Battle with Alcoholism'''

The pressure of being at the academy, combined with many years of guilt and self-loathing took a devastating toll on Regan's mental health. To cope with daily life he began neglecting his studies to go to campus parties and have a good time. He started drinking in his second year, and by the first semester of his third year it developed into a serious problem and he began drinking daily and in secret to the point where he depended on the alcohol to get him through the day. When he washed out of the Academy in 2391 he disappeared and not much is known about his time away from Earth. He was found nine months later on a distant planet, Lakata (A rough and dangerous planet on the bad side of Ferengi space), after a painstaking search by his family. Eventually, through extensive counselling and other medical treatments he has been clean and sober since 2392, and his father used a lot of the family influence in Starfleet to get him a second chance at Starfleet Academy in 2393. It is revealed in his crew physical by Ensign Sivok on the USS Arrow that Starfleet Command placed a heavy caveat on his graduation, and he had to pass a mandatory substance test in order to retain his commission.

* '''Lakata'''
* '''Lakata'''

Regan very rarely talks about Lakata, only that he ended up there after he was thrown out of the academy by stowing away on a refugee transport. The planet itself is a rough and mostly lawless planet governed with little attention by the Ferengi Alliance, but mostly by criminal gangs. There, while intoxicated with anything he could buy or steal, Regan had to fend for himself living on the dangerous streets and was often brutalized and assaulted by different street gangs and Ferengi administrators as he tried to survive. In 2392 he was located by his family and an extraction from the planet was made whereby he was sent immediately into therapy and rehab. It was revealed in '''A Scouring of Stars''' that the Ferengi Governor of Lakata held Regan to ransom, and his family paid 2,000 bars of gold-pressed latinum in private to secure his release.

* '''Klingon Culture'''
Regan is a self-confessed Klingophile, and adores everything Klingon, from pain sticks to opera (though gagh is an acquired taste!). He finds Klingon culture and society to be rich and fascinating and follows the Klingon Code of Honour. Though he is still a novice, he speaks modest Klingon. He attributes his love of everything Klingon to his close friend, confidant and mentor, T'Wrath (son of Meltak), who as the eldest son and heir inducted his cousin Danny Wilde into the House of Meltak in the 2380's. Regan spent a year on Qo'noS living with the House of Meltak when he was 17 in 2387, before moving to Betazed, and then to the Academy.

Father

  • Marcus Armstrong Eugene Wilde
MarcusW.jpg

Commander Marcus Wilde holds a senior command position at Starfleet Security. Described as cold and controlling by Regan, the two men rarely speak face to face. He divorced Amanda when the twins were young and left the Wilde Estate to live in San Francisco full time. Though never confirmed Regan believes his father sabotaged his application to Utopia Planetia to be a test pilot for new starships, and instead got him placed on starship duty in the security department. Regan believes he is a huge disappointment to his father, a belief which haunts him to this day.

Mother

  • Amanda Wilde
AmandaW.jpg

Described as lighthearted and a bit scatter-brained, Amanda Wilde is a successful and famous crime fiction holo-novelist. With over 17 billion viewers Federation-wide of her programs, she proudly dons the mantle of '24th Century Agatha Christie'. She is described by Regan as being a 'lovely old thing' who twitters like a bird around her family. She has a deep mistrust of Starfleet and laments the fact both her children chose service in Starfleet over pursuing careers they loved.

Sister

  • Roxanne Wilde
RoxyW.jpg

Headstrong and outspoken, Roxy is Regan's fraternal twin sister. Roxy is said to be more disciplined than Regan, and applies herself more thoroughly to her service in Starfleet. They applied to the Academy together and she graduated ahead of him when he was expelled. She is a Lieutenant with the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. The siblings are extremely close and protective of each other, and enjoy a semi-serious rivalry. Roxy is a strong influence on him, and she supported him in his recovery. She is also his biggest critic and can get away with saying almost anything to him to bring him back down to Earth. She has been in a long term relationship with Commander Preston Sinclair - First Officer of the USS Republic - since the academy, and the two announced their engagement in 2397.

Professional Relationships

  • USS Arrow:
  • Randal Shayne: Regan's Captain on the Arrow. A private and somewhat serious man, Regan feels he doesn't have much in common with his CO, and feels like he's embarrassed Shayne by his boisterous personality. He hopes to prove himself to the Captain somehow.
  • Quentin Collins: Arrows charming and self-confessed 'oddball' First Officer. Regan admires him very much and adores his somewhat 'old-fashioned' tastes and love of all things maritime and strange. He's borrowed an old paper copy of 'The Three Musketeers' by Dumas from Collins, and intends to read it all.
  • R'Ariel - Regan took an instant liking to the diminutive Caitian/Deltan Counselor. He is grateful for her easy-going and wryly playful nature. The two have a friendly professional relationship, and an almost Big Brother/Little Sister bond.
  • Keneth Nakada - Keneth and Regan have an amicable friendship, and they enjoy each other's company, though Regan tends to tease him a bit. He considers the engineer to be his best friend on board, cemented by The Brownies of Peace.
  • Artinus Serinus - Regan's immediate superior in Security. The two are polar opposites in every way, and rarely see eye to eye - professionally or personally. He calls him 'Serious Serinus' behind his back. He hopes they can some day come to an understanding and learn to respect each other.
  • Maxwell Traenor - Regan never expected to have anything in common with an older man like Maxwell. The two seem opposites, but after the awards party on Atlas Base, the pair helped a drunk and deteriorating Crewman Thompson back to the ship, and Regan opened up to Maxwell about life as a recovering alcoholic, which ended with Regan crying on his shoulder. Now they have a unique friendship, and Regan regards him as a father figure, but also older brother/wing man.
  • Maria Alvarez: Funny, sexy, and hot-blooded, Maria is extremely similar to Regan so much they could be siblings. This similarity could lead to an amazing friendship, or a semi-serious rivalry. Time will tell.

  • SB118 Fleet:

  • Jana Zicv - Former Arrow crew mate now serving on the USS Resolution. They formed a brief friendship during her time on the Arrow, and Regan misses her funny personality and quirky ways.
  • Serren Tan - Academy friend posted to the USS Gorkon. They took their final exam together, and after a recent flirty subspace catch-up Regan began to question his personal feelings for the Trill. He is attracted to Serren physically but isn't sure he can reconcile his feelings with the Host/Symbiont nature of Trill life.

Missions

  • Evading Mist (Arrow) 239707.22 - 239709.05: Arriving onboard the Arrow in the midst of their confrontation with the Sheliak Corporate, Regan was immediately put to work. His first assignment was to apprehend Crewman Thompson - who was accused of killing Crewman Gonzales - in the shuttlebay. Taking a more talkative approach, Regan found out that Thompson was under the control of a dark entity, which could read peoples minds. After taunting Regan with his battles with alcohol, he found he didn't have the courage or conviction to phaser the crewman to take him into custody. It was only when the Arrow traveled through a gravimetric singularity that the entity escaped and left Thompson unaware of his actions.
  • Shoreleave - 239709.05 - 239710.09: The Arrow, in orbit of Atlas Base on the planet Theta 122, spent a while on a 'working-shoreleave' schedule, in which Regan used his piloting services to ferry crew to and from the Arrow and Atlas Base. He also conducted a planetary survey with Ensign Nakada. He set up a parkour routine, where he runs the length of the ship and other decks through Jeffries Tubes and hatchways with ladders in them. He also - briefly - engaged in Ensign Nakada's cooking class, but only to amuse himself by their efforts, and ended up covered from head to toe in strawberry smoothie! Awarded The Explorers Ribbon, The Legacy Ribbon, and The Good Conduct Ribbon, and promoted to Lieutenant(jg) on 239710.03.
  • A Scouring of Stars (Arrow) 239710.09 - Present: Regan is assigned to a diplomatic team to welcome and oversee security as delegates from The Big Six - six of the biggest players in the flotilla surrounding Theta 122 - beam aboard the Arrow to try and work out a truce while being blockaded by the Sheliak. He embarrasses himself and Captain Shayne by retelling an embarrassing story of his youth travelling with his relation, who is a Federation Ambassador, to R'Ariel (He threw up in the presence of the Antedean Ambassador when the fish course was served at a special banquet), which leads him to question his future on the ship, and in Starfleet itself... When the Arrow is boarded by pirates after the double cross by Captain Eru Ghant, Regan is tasked with defending the ship with Gul Dakul. When Dakul dies defending the ship, Regan is joined by Commander Eerie and heads to engineering to defend it. In the Battle for Main Engineering, Regan is captured by pirates who intend to hand him over to Ghant for a bounty.
