Shayne and Drex are perhaps opposites in everything but dedication to duty. Where she is chipper and delightful, he is morose and prone to canyon-like scowls. But their differences began to rub off on one another, and Shayne was by far more fortunate in that regard. A close working relationship lead to a mutual respect and friendship. Drex is one of the only officers capable of eliciting affection from Shayne, and he trusts her implicitly despite this weakness. Recently, Kayla became gravely injured during a mission. Shayne has not allowed himself to grieve for his comatose friend, who is not expected to recover.
