Members are welcome to place their current characters for adoption in the hatchery, but we do ask that you follow some guidelines, which can be found below.

Start with a template

We do ask that if you are giving up your current character for adoption that you give us as much information about the character as possible.

For more information on how to use these templates, head to the Creation and Upkeep of a Character Page tutorial, and read the page through the "Advanced Template" section. Follow the directions their.

If you have not played the character for all that long, you'll want to use the "Advanced" Bio Template. However, if you have played the character for a long time, you will need to use the "Complex" Bio Template, and if at all possible, include a sim archive on the sub-pages. (See the tutorial mentioned above for more information how to do that.)

Add the category

All characters being prepared for adoption from the hatchery need to be added to the correct hatchery category. Simply add the category below to the character page you have created:

[[Category:HATCHERY-Characters]]

Cut the cord

Now that you've created your character, and have placed it in the hatchery area, you need to be prepared to cut the cord. Basically: be prepared to see your character completely changed in the hands of someone else. You must be prepared for the adopting member to completely run with your character -- possibly in a completely different direction than you had intended.

Those who create characters for adoption may not contact the adopting member to ask that they change or tweak the way they are playing the character. This is both uncouth and unfair.
