Her family name carried some weight—not because of wealth or politics, but because of one Corad Cole, her great-great-great-grandfather, who served as a tactical officer aboard one of early the NX class ships. He played a formative role during the events leading to the Federation’s founding. While proud of her heritage, Natasha is determined to forge her own path and reputation, relying on grit and performance rather than pedigree.

Born in Tycho City on Luna, Natasha grew up exposed early to a structured, high-achieving environment. She came out as transgender in her early adolescence, a journey supported by most of her immediate family. Mother

A quiet, patient scientist and supportive parent, Mara provided Natasha with a safe, affirming upbringing—especially during her transition. While not a Starfleet officer herself, she remained steeped in Federation values and gave Natasha her blessing to pursue a career in Starfleet as a Security officer. Natasha often says her mother is her “first compass”—a voice of clarity and warmth, even when light-years away.

Commander Rainer Solan
Father – estranged

Rainer and Mara separated when Natasha was young. He struggled to accept Natasha’s transition at first, leading to years of limited contact. Though the relationship is still strained, there have been recent, tentative signs of reconciliation. Natasha inherited some of her tactical instincts from him but resists his rigid approach to command.

Juno Cole
Sibling

They are Natasha’s younger introverted Non-binary younger sibling. Juno is a talented artist with a passion for starship interiors and speculative design. She is protective of Juno and often sends gifts or off-world materials for their art.

Aunt Rae

An unofficial “aunt”; not blood-related. She’s a reclusive traveler with deep, unexplained knowledge of pre-Federation technology. She appears infrequently throughout Natasha’s life, always offering cryptic advice or thoughtful gifts. She gifted Natasha a strange, artifact—its origin and function remain a mystery. Starfleet records show no official trace of her identity. This has lead to speculation in Natasha’s family that “Aunt Rae” might be a temporal agent, a Q observer, or a former Section 31 operative.
