Michael Hudson was born to Richard and Debbie Hudson on September 21, 2068 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Richard was a StarFleet scientist in xenobiology research, specializing in identification of new compounds in alien fauna. Debbie was a young politician with dreams of joining the Federation Council. Overall, Mike's parents were achievers with fairly ambitious dreams, not only for themselves but for their children.
Though Mike's parents weren't overly strict, they had high expectations. Though Mike had a sense of self-duty and responsibility, he was easily distracted by activities he considered fun. His early childhood was spent frequently in the forested mountains that surrounded his home exploring and fishing. Mike had a natural curiosity of the world around him. Given that Mike could easily find himself distracted, he would frequently find himself finishing assignments last-minute, however he was a capable enough student that his work was more than adequate to pass muster.
As Mike finished school, he found pressure from his parents (especially his father) to join StarFleet. The chance to explore, meet new people, and learn about more than just his little corner on Earth was appealing enough for him to join. Upon entering StarFleet Academy, Mike initially had difficulty adjusting to the discipline aspects, however he quickly learned how to balance his own distractions with his new duties as a Cadet.
Personality
Mike is friendly, easy-going, and generally optimistic. He has a natural curiosity, seeming to absorb and analyze everything around him. Very charismatic and outgoing, as well as a bit sarcastic, Mike finds himself surrounded by many acquaintances, however there are few he'd consider truly close. He is a natural flirt, easily distracted by a pretty face or friendly smile.
