History
Sebastian Marie's name is somewhat unique for a Gideon. Gideon's normally have one name, and female's names usually start with an "O". However, Sebastian's mother, Odrea, was obsessed with French Culture on Earth. She picked two names she really liked and put them together in an effort to imitate Terran naming structure, however, she didn't quite understand the concept of a surname as Gideon's do not have one.
Sebastian was born on Gideon, but has visited Earth several times throughout her childhood with her mother. She has been influenced by her mother's obsessive nature concerning Earth. When Sebastian was 22, she decided she wanted to join Starfleet because she could then learn more about Terrans and other cultures. However, her choice of study was another thing entirely. Sebastian decided to be a security officer because her best friend, Esther Merlion, talked her into it so they could take classes together. By a wing and a prayer, (and many people feeling sorry for her) she made it through the academy and is ready to start her career in Starfleet.
