On the freighter, the Jen-Tuan, she was responsible for locating lucrative and exciting jobs, most involving some sort of treasure. She is currently presumed dead after the crew abandoned ship near the Badlands.

Pre-Starfleet History

Dany was born on a Vulcan science colony set up to study archaeological ruins and local wild-life on a moon surrounding Regnal 1. Her father and mother got along well enough and her father didn’t push for her to accept logic too much. But by the time Dany was 15 he became increasingly more persistent and Dany’s mother, Ishani, snapped. She took Dany and got passage aboard a small cargo vessel, the Jen-Tuan, and left Regnal’s moon.

Dany stayed with the Jen-Tuan for the better part of 15 years, until an emotional break after the Dominion war had her leaving the Jen-Tuan and heading back to the colony and her father. A short stint in a Vulcan monastery, and a few years on human cargo ship as a paid counselor, and Dany found herself primed and ready to join Starfleet.

Starfleet

Dany joined Starfleet in 2385 in part for something interesting to do and also to potentially help facilitate her search for the crew of the Jen-Tuan who went missing in the Badlands during the onset of the Dominion War.

After her Cadet Cruise she was assigned to Starbase 118 under Captain Nicholotti. Unfortunately, before she'd had time to settle, Dany was recalled to Earth to provide testimony against one of her classmates who was caught cheating on final exams and falsifying records. After what Dany considered a week of torture in the courts on Earth (most of that having to bunk with a rival of hers, an Andorian with a penchant for cold air) she returned to Starbase 118 just in time to see the crew return from their mission.
