Chief Petty Officer Lunat Drys [pronounced: "LOO-nat DRISS"] is command master chief serving aboard the USS Veritas.
Born in one of Risa's largest cities, Lunat spent her childhood in a tropical paradise, and was exposed to a great many cultures at the height of Risa's tourism boom. In 2381, Lunat and her family were forced to evacuate Risa in advance of an invading Borg armada. The planets surface was obliterated shortly thereafter, though it has since been restored.
While many of her friends and family were scattered to the nine winds, resettled on whatever Federation worlds were willing to take them, Lunat instead chose to pursue a career in Starfleet. After failing her first attempt at the Academy entrance examination, she instead decided to enlist. She became a captain's yeoman during the third year of her first tour of duty. Though she was initially unsatisfied with the role, she discovered a strong talent for the responsibilities, which she now associates with her Risian heritage. She was Captain Rosa Carrero's yeoman for six years, until her death in 2393. She served as Captain Roshanara Rahman's yeoman for another three years before accepting assignment as command master chief, the senior most enlisted officer aboard the ship.
