When he turned twenty he joined the military and served for six years. He was given an opportunity to join Starfleet at twenty-six and he took it. He has served aboard many stations and ships as needed and has earned his rank of Master Chief Petty Officer within four years. He now serves as the weapons officer on the USS Montreal a job he takes very seriously as it is the first duty post that he has been assigned to that crosses officer and enlisted personnel posting.

Lieu Dante was born to a Centauran mother and Vietnamese Human father. His father instilled great discipline in him and his mother fostered freedom and intellectual challenge. He grew up to become a respectable and stout minded man.

When Shin turned sixteen he left his family to explore the world until he turned twenty when he joined the military.
