Lance was conceived during a Vulcan experiment, monitored by the Doctor Recubia. The Vulcans took some DNA from one of their crew and one of Ellena Firestarter, who at that time was a part of their crew, who then became the one who incubated the crossbreed in her womb. Soon after however, the ship where this experiment took place was attacked by a group of ship raiders. Ellena was able to get to an escape pod, but only at the cost of a fellow crewman's life, the Vulcan Soljack. Eventually she went back to her own planet where Lance was eventually born. Soon after he was born, his mother discovered that he aged half as fast as any normal Betazoid, this caused problems later in his life. Years later Lance discovered his telepathic abilities, although they were not as effective as a normal Betazoid. During his childhood Lance took after his mother and spoke with brutal honesty. He continued his lower education until he was 20 years of age excelling at all the sciences although weak when it came to sports. Lance then went to follow in his mother's footsteps and went to Starbase Academy where he was mocked due to his appearance and stature. Some activities he did were chess and robotics until he graduated with his engineering degree. Still believing that his education was inadequate, he eventually pursued and was awarded his medical degree.
Although he does indeed act his age, Lance ages half as fast as any normal Betazoid or Vulcan. Due to his genetic drawbacks, confusion has ensued. Additionally, due to his strange genetics, the hybrid responds oddly to most drugs and treatment.
The first and smallest ship that Lance had served on. Under the then Captain Rhys Bejain, the fresh-faced ensign served as a science officer aboard the ship. There, it was discovered that his body did not have the same biological responses to drugs. An example of this occurring was when he was injected with a hypo and was rendered unconscious. He didn't serve long on the ship however, as he was soon reassigned to the USS Steadfast.
After numerous years of his Starfleet career, Lance became genetically overcome by an "Evil Consciousness." Result of this possession has left him a female. The reason for this being that his genetics had to be altered so that the hostile consciousness could take over. The creature was later banished by Ensign Sasak.
Starbase 118 Ops
Lance reappeared on Betazed a year after her disappearance. Confused and scared, she had managed to find her way into the Vulcan embassy. There, her federation profile was pulled up and she was put under intense counselling. Living with her mother and taking remedial starfleet courses, the woman remembered all of her training, but was unable to match experiences with people. People she had known from the past may appear familiar after time, but her memory has not yet returned. After re-completing her training, the hybrid was assigned to the USS Tiger-A where she held the position of Chief Science Officer, under the stipulation that she has consistent meetings with the ship's counselor. After both Chief Medical Officers were reassigned, Lance finally began to use her medical degree where she held the position of Chief Science Officer. Soon, the Chief Medical Officer of the Tiger-A was transferred, and Lance took the position.
Roughly a year later, Lance began experiencing a number of headaches. With the help of Lieutenant Commander Atimen and Ensign Tagren, it was found that Lance was being affected by chronitons. Using a sensor array, the hybrid was scanned to find what areas of the brain were affected. Afterwards, she was placed in the transporter to physically remove the chronitons. The operation was a success, but at a cost. The woman that was Lance had her memories infused into her mirror counterpart, Lieutenant Commander Lenette Firestarter, who was driven mad by the memories. However, Lance returned to his original male form, healthy, despite not having the memories that he procured whilst being female. The same day as the incident, Lance was promoted to the Second Officer, an interesting decision as he must now meet the Tiger crew once more.
