Manner

Maeda is a very quiet and reserved man, quite in contrast to his bubbly partner and son. He loves ancient and traditional Japanese culture, and enjoys introducing his new family to it. He has altered the family quarters to this taste, especially the furniture. The family's table is a kotatsu, a low table with a surrounding blanket and floor cushions. He was able to replicate tatami reed floor mats, and even futon mattresses for the beds.

His favorite movies are Godzilla films from the 20th century. he especially enjoys watching these with Ben.

History

Maeda grew up on Earth, in Japan. His mother was the owner of a small antiques shop, where Kyo grew into his love of traditional Japanese culture. He never knew his father, and was raised by his mother and grandmother. He enlisted in Starfleet at age 18, but after a couple of years he transferred to the Academy to become an officer.

After graduating from the academy, Maeda was stationed at the Duronis II Embassy as a security officer. He met Talia Kaji, a Rodulan doctor, at the hospital he was sent to when injured by....
