(Background/Personality/Career History)
Like many Worene, Koyan crew up in a large group alongside numerous other children.The cultural name for this structure is a 'Brotherhood' or 'Brotherband', though the term itself is neutral. Children are raised to cooperate and work together, playing, hunting and learning as a large group. This is why Worene society has remained quite peaceful, despite the competitive nature of being a predator species. Koyan's life was no exception to this, and they spent the first half of their life in the Brotherhood.
At around 13, like most other children, Koyan was expected to begin training in a path or vocation. However, none of the paths open on Ser'vimm truly appealed to the young feline. Koyan was not content with following in the ways of what was known and comfortable. Instead, they wanted to dive into that which was not yet known. A common affliction among the Worene as their kind grew older was a sort of mania, as aggressive predatory instincts took over. This occurred in the majority of Worene and was what prompted Koyan to dive into the field of medicine.
Through Starfleet, Koyan hopes not only to discover a cure for their people, but also, to come to understand themselves better.
