Kellin is a very respectable and hard working man. He does, however, find himself having trouble mingling with others, and Kellin also is very nervous around strangers.

Family
Kellin's biological parents, Marina and Marr Rixx, were both killed by the Breen after being kidnapped. They were killed infront of Kellin as to insight fear into him, and break him down even further so that the young eight-year-old would fear his captors more so. At the age of 16 Kellin was "bought" by a group of traders. These traders (undercover Federation operatives) would bring Kellin back to Earth where he would be officially adopted by two Terran, Sara and Marcus Rothschild.
Biological Parents
Marina Rixx: Marina, a Betazoid, is the biological mother of Kellin Rixx. She was killed en route to Portas V by the Breen after being kidnapped from a passenger shuttle heading from Betazed to Earth. Marina was always fond of singing, even when she thought that no one was listening,
Marr Rixx: Marr, a Betazoid, is the biological father of Kellin Rixx. Marr was killed by the Breen en rout to Portas V after being kidnapped from a passenger shuttle heading from Betazed to Earth.
Adoptive Parents
Sara Rothschild: Sarah, Kellin's adoptive mother, is a professional musician living in New York City, New York, Earth. Sara is a profession violinist and teacher, playing frequently around the Alpha Quadrant with many musical groups.
Marcus Rothschild: Marcus, Kellin's adoptive father, is a xenobiologist. Marcus spends much of his time traveling with Starfleet to learn about and document the biological systems of new species and planets.
Siblings
David Rothschild: Kellin's adoptive brother and son of Sara and Marcus Rothschild, David is the same age as Kellin. David and Kellin never really got along when Kellin was first adopted, and not much has changed since then. David also decided to join Starfleet in hopes of outdoing Kellin. David, although good at heart, will only be happy when he performs better than Kellin. David has always misconstrued Kellin's standoffishness as arrogance, and thinks that he over exaggerates the stories that Kellin tells of his time spent in slavery.

- 236312.17: Born to Marina and Marr Rixx on Betazed.
- 237203.05: The Rixx family's shuttle is captured by the Breen. Kellin's parent's are killed, and the young, eight-year-old Kellin is taken by the Breen into slavery.
- 238004.24: Kellin is rescued from the Breen colony on Portas V by undercover Federation Operatives. Kellin is then adopted by Sara and Marcus Rothschild.
- 238208.22: Enters into Starfleet Academy with his adoptive brother David Rothschild
- 238602.15: Final training mission at Starfleet Academy begins.
