Manner and Appearance
It is quite easy to see the effects of both parent’s genetics in Savik. He is tall and broad shouldered and it looks as though he should be in Security not Engineering. He has the coppery green overtones and arched eyebrows of his Vulcan side and the forehead ridges of his Klingon side. The blond hair, which he wears somewhere between regulation length and what a proper Klingon would, is an anomaly. He has a goatee that he keeps neatly trimmed. . He can look positively menacing if he sets his mind to it, but he rarely does. When not in uniform, he prefers to dress casually silver and black are his favorite colors.
- Father: Arak (Vulcan)
- Mother: Mal’ar Kallaor
- Brother: Sorek (15)
To say that Savik is a complex individual would be an understatement. Just as his physical side reflects the heritage of both his parents, so does the psychological. He believes strongly in honor and justice and has a warrior mentality and his temper has been known to get the best of him in the past. At the same time he has a logical and dispassionate side as well. He has taken an oath to not kill unless he absolutely has to. Despite having a warrior mentality he is more inclined to think and/or talk his way out of a situation and will only kill if he has to. It was always that way with him, killing someone and living with the consequences has only increased that inclination.
His two natures come in conflict with each other, more often than he would like. The Vulcan side usually prevails however, unless he sees someone taken advantage of, or the innocent hurt, than the Klingon side rears its head.
His dual personality and the pressures of being away from home, such as it was, and the rigors of the Academy have him questioning every aspect of his life
Strengths & Weakness + Logical thinker + Calm, dispassionate (most of the time) + Cares for others + Two natures - Anger management issues at tims - Speaks his mind - Cares for others - Two natures
Hobbies and Interests
He enjoys reading, spending time on the holodeck, cooking, Mok’ bara(Klingon martial art, similar to Tai Chi) as well as general outdoor activities. And he would not be Klingon without a love for good opera.
Languages: Standard, Vulcan, Klingon, Romulan
hat he wanted to take, he saw the Klingons as a violent and hyper aggressive people with few redeeming qualities. He did not see the logic in dealing with them, but he went anyways, because that was his duty, and he was committed to fulfilling his duty.
While there he came to know, became friends with and became romantically involved with his secretary a Klingon named Mal’ar. She was the daughter of one of the Generals and leaders of one of the lesser houses.
As their affair progressed towards something, deeper and more long-term her father’s house rose to prominence. After that they decided to get married. It was a decision that they both considered deeply because there was such a vast difference in their cultures, an even greater difference than between Vulcans and Humans. In the end they decided they could not deny their love for each other, they felt that their differences(which were many) made them better and stronger and would do the same for their children.
They were married without the blessing of either of their families. Though their respective peoples had become allies over the past several years neither side was willing to allow their child to marry someone so different than themselves. So in effect the marriage severed their ties to their respective families and they only had each other.
Savik was the first born and while his parents were kind and loving and to a certain extent had met in the middle on their cultural differences, it was not an easy relationship to keep going. Not just dealing with things within the family but the attacks from outside of the family as well.
The pressure from outside became especially hard for Savik who had to deal with ridicule and prejudice from both sides. He was more of an outcast than other hybrid races and became a good scrapper. He had to just to survive.
He was often taunted and bullied by both Vulcans and Klingons. So he learned to stand tough and fight hard when his logic and verbal reasoning was not enough.
When he was 17 and he was leaving the consulate he came upon two Klingon thugs. They were older and bigger than him and they were armed, he was not. They were harassing a pre-teen girl and when she stood up to them and kicked at them, they overpowered her drug her into an alley where they were going to rape her. Savik saw what was going on and intervened. He tried to talk to them about it, but it quickly became clear that was not going to work, so he fought back. He wound up killing one of them with his own weapon and the other one ran off.
He knew that he had done the right thing, but the death still haunts him to this day nonetheless. And he is troubled by the occasional nightmare from it.
He was cleared of all charges, barely but it became clear that if he stayed on Qo’noS there would only be more trouble. So he decided that his best option would be to join Star Fleet so he quickly applied passed the exam and was accepted.
