BACKGROUND
Kaansi was born to mother Shegh Loxir on Stardate 236102.19 on Ornara. By the time he was born, his parents had divorced because of his mother's addiction to Felicium. When he arrived in the world, he suffered from the same addiction and had to endure the withdraw symptoms as a baby. His mother died shortly after his birth from the same symptoms. After his mother's death, he went to live with his father, older brother, and adopted sister on Brekka (aka Delos IV).
Most of his childhood was spent forming hypotheses and testing them. He enjoyed the experimentation that came with Chemistry and excelled in Mathematics and Science. After graduating secondary school, he attended university in the capital. At the tender age of 20, he graduated with a dual major in Biochemistry and Medical Laboratory Science.
His father wanted Kaansi to follow in his footsteps and become a doctor. However, Kaansi found that his interest wasn't as much in working with patients as it was in the lab. He worked as a laboratory assistant for six years, completing the Terran equivalent of a Masters of Science in Applied Biochemistry. Since he was very little, he'd always been fascinated by the thought of studying plants on other worlds to find new medicinal uses for them.
It was at this time that he met then Cadet Dassa Alexander, who came to Brekka to treat a minor epidemic in the children of the population. The two bonded immediately, her affinity for lab work nearly rivaling his. During her brief time there, she convinced him to apply for Starfleet Academy. On Stardate 238708.19, he boarded a transport for Earth to begin his Starfleet career.
He served his cadet cruise aboard the USS Centris-A and graduated from Starfleet Academy on Stardate 239109 with a dual major in Chemistry and Nursing. After spending three years aboard the USS Kepler and reaching the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade, he recently transferred to the USS Veritas where he currently serves as a Science Officer.
PERSONALITY PROFILE
Spiritual, artistic, peace-loving and friendly, he is a highly original person. He is most likely to be labeled "offbeat" or "eccentric," and he is stimulated by visionary ideas and new experiences. He is highly intellectual, however not so good with practical details and follow-through. He is a peculiar mixture of social and shy and which he chooses to be is highly dependent on the circumstances and the company. While pending time with others is a great stress relief, he is at the same time so sensitive that he often chooses to hide out alone and escape into his imagination instead. Strengths
Kaansi has many facets to his personality. It wouldn't be wrong to say that he feels a multitude of emotions within. He has a highly compassionate and sensitive nature, making him very receptive to the needs of others. He can understand emotions like no other! When it comes to love, romance, and dating, he will never disappoint his partner. He is a true romantic at heart, and values love and relationship beyond great measures. He possesses extrasensory perception and is very aware of the world around him. He is extremely imaginative and artistic, seeking out a variety of new experiences to add to his creativity and knowledge base. He is open-minded and a bit offbeat due to his imaginative and artistic nature. Creative and physical freedom is very important to him and he can never be deprived of his emotional and spiritual freedom! He will do all things possible to ensure that this freedom is acquired not only for self, but others as well.
Weaknesses
While he is great with romance, he is not-so-great when it comes to punctuality and remembering the dates! Because he is mostly preoccupied with the spiritual and intellectual realms around, it is natural for him to be forgetful in matters of reality.
