Personal History

Jayla was born on Betazed, but constantly traveled with her parents between Vulcan and Betazed. While she learned and excelled at the Vulcan training in controlling her emotions, she tended to be more light-hearted and open like her mother. Due to her strong Vulcan appearance, she often takes on the typical stoic expression, followed by a smile and laughter, particularly when she pulls off a successful prank on her friends.

Jayla has a love of computers. Her mother fondly states that she was playing with isolinear chips since she was an infant. It was not a surprise that she went into the same career field as her parents. What was a surprise was her joining Starfleet to pursue it.

Pa'kur in a good mood

Jayla is also the owner of a Black Palm Cockatoo she has named Pa'kur. It was given to her as a gift from her parents because of her love of birds upon graduation from the Academy. Sadly the bird knows far too many swear words in too many languages.
