- 2396: Accepted into the Starfleet Academy
His oldest sister Nina went to California four years before the rest of her family followed. She had just finished her studies in Engineering and wanted to experience new things, so she tried becoming a star fleet engineer. She didn’t end up as one, but still counts the Academy as some of the best years of her life.
Irwin was always fascinated by the gigantic spaceships and everything about space, his sisters were also his biggest idols, so wanting to become a engineer in one of those great ships came naturally. He spent many years wanting to learn as much as possible about Starfleet, it’s ships and past.
He only later changed his path when his mother talked him into doing some voluntary work in a care facility. Furthermore, he did it because he wanted to please his mom and proof to himself that being a doctor just like both of his parents wasn’t the path he would want to take. Well, until he noticed that it very much was the right path for him. Of course, working in a facility like that isn’t the same as being a doctor, but some aspects about it really fascinated him. And when he realized that as a doctor he could also work on a spaceship, he hurried to get into med school in the same year.
