DEPARTMENT of XENOLOGY

Hur'q is the Klingon word for "outsider," and the term used for a race which conquered and pillaged the Klingon homeworld, Qo'noS. They also apparently knew of the Bajoran wormhole and its uses; they took the Sword of Kahless about 1,000 years ago to their Gamma Quadrant homeworld.

In 2395, while on a mission to provide humanitarian aid on the planet Arndall in the Par'tha Expanse, the crew of the USS Blackwell encountered a community of insectoid aliens living beneath the planet's surface. The aliens identified themselves as the Kam'Jahtae and proceeded to launch an attack against the residents of Arndall. The Kam'Jahtae attack was repelled by Starfleet personnel, and further analysis of the data gathered by the Blackwell led Starfleet to conclude that the Kam'Jahtae are the same race known to the Klingons as the Hur'q.
