History:
Hunt was born the sixth of seven children in Rusk Texas. To George Hunt a farmer who's family had emigrated to Texas with a group of Mormon settlers in the early 1850's following an early schism in the church over the concept of plural marriage. The Hunts and the other later-day saints that went there were opposed to this concept. The Hunt's were farmers from that day until the present. With the introduction of warp travel and galactic colonization the Hunts became keystones of the agricultural industry on many Federation planets. The Travis side of the family had come to Texas in the late 1820's the most notable of these distant relatives being William Barret Travis the commander of the defenders of the Alamo. The Travis family had a strong military tradition up until the end of America's Vietnam conflict when the family lost all but one son. M.H. Hunt's mother Janet became a history teacher in order to connect to her ancestral roots. Michael shares this deep love of history and it is a big part of the reason he joined Starfleet. He hopes to revive the once proud Marine history his family had. In the later half of high school he took upon himself a religious quest in which he camped in the wilderness for one week fasting and meditating, it is at this time that he came to know threw research and pray the Bajorian prophets and took them as his spiritual guides, After high school Hunt briefly attended Texas A&M University on a Soccer scholarship. Where he majored in Bajorian studies and Minored in Physical Therapy. It was at this time that he met his first Starfleet recruiter which over the coming months would become a great mentor to him. after just a semester and a half he decided to transfer to Starfleets Marine Training Academy in Virginia were he majored in security he was known around campus as a silent work horse. He did not indulge in the parties that took place nor did he forge many meaningful relationships choosing to study intensively hone his physical body, and could often be found practicing at his marksmanship at the range. His grades were never very high as his intellect is a bit outside of his skill set but managed to get by do to 'work ethic.
