Personal History
Fentane Renswi was sent to meet the USS Arrow in 2398 to discuss potential trades, travel rites and other means for Starfleet to get a better foothold in the Alpha Isles. Young and relatively new to diplomatic life, Renswi was keen to go out on his own and escape the fame and notoriety of his fathers legacy.
His time aboard the Arrow was brief, since just before he and his team beamed aboard the crew were subject to some kind of mental brainwave displacement - caused by a strange Gentii probe - which caused the crew to essentially 'swap bodies'. Unbeknownst to Renswi, his colleague from the government, was aware of this swap and used it to his advantage.
Since the Gentii are descended from tribes of nomads they historically relied on a ritual known as a Bairiri - a meeting between tribes where each would honour the other with performances such as dances, musical recitals, poetry readings - in order to begin trades. The Gentii didn't demand a Bairiri from Starfleet, but one was proposed by Ensign Alvarez when she discovered it in her pre-mission research.
The Bairiri didn't go according to plan since the crew were not in their original bodies and therefore unable to perform.
When Captain Shayne requested the Gentii help switch the crew back to their original bodies Renswi complied, rather embarrassed by the ordeal
