Faith Blake, Brekkian/Betazoid toddler, is the daughter to Sky Blake and adoptive daughter to Lieutenant Sabor.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personality

  • Faith is quite a playful child. She enjoys having lots of attention, especially cuddles with her mother and father, but becomes overwhelmed when in heavily populated areas, to the point where she won't let go of her mother or father, or will refuse to take her hands off of her ears (possibly in order to block out the noise).
  • Like most Brekkian children and their mothers, Faith finds it difficult to be without her mother after certain periods of time (both Faith and Sky become extremely anxious after around 12 hours of being apart, so much so that Sky will begin to physically shake and Faith will not eat or sleep).
  • Strangely, she is quick to pick up Golic Vulcan, and is capable of having simple conversations with Sabor. While is capable of answering simple, short-answered questions, Faith is unable to speak Seritonian Brekkian (Sky's language) - but it should be noted that she can, unusually, understand the majority that is spoken to her. She also does not speak unless she desperately wants something or is spoken to directly - something which both Sky and Sabor are becoming increasingly concerned with.

Manner

  • Habits: Unknown
  • Religion/Spiritual Devotion: Sky plans on raising her in the Norssian religion, but will be accepting of anything Faith wishes to do later on in life.

Hobbies and Pastimes

  • Playing and Discovering
    • As Faith is a baby, she enjoys lots of play and discovering time. She loves play time with Sky, and since being taken to day-care due to Sky's position on the starship, she discovers a heap of things there. She especially likes playing with shapes and feeling textures of skin, carpet and clothing. For some reason, she prefers to play with block triangles . . . not that that's a problem at all.

Likes

Dislikes

  • Sleeping away from her mother
    • Faith shows the typical behaviour of a Brekkian child - she is either uncomfortable or scared of sleeping away from Sky. She can sleep during the day without her, but when the lights go off, Faith goes off. She is slowly becoming more capable with this however, and has succeeded in spending a whole night in her own bed.
  • Loud noises

Family

Mother

Sky Blake, 27 years old.

Is the child of Sky Blake, previously a Starfleet officer before deciding to resign. Faith is basically a 'clone' of Sky, as she has no father, but due to the difference between Faith's upbringing, and Sky's own upbringing, it's reasonable to believe that Faith will most likely be very different from her mother. Although Sky admits that Faith was indeed an 'accident', she believes that it was her best mistake. Sky is yet to miss any of Faith's development milestones.

As Faith is half Brekkian, the infant feels uncomfortable when away from her mother in extensive periods of time. So much so, that Faith is unable to sleep when her mother is not around. It is unknown why, exactly, but Sky claims that many Brekkian children have the same problem. Something to do with Brekkians evolving from some sort of pack animal.

Father

Is the adoptive daughter of Lieutenant Sabor. While she is not biologically his, Sabor treats her as if she's his own, regardless of his OCD and germophobia. He looks after her when her mother is unable to, and plays with her whenever he can.

Biologically, Faith does not have a father. It was originally believed that she was conceived between her mother and Alixis Ozera, but new evidence (the fact that Ozera is unable to conceive) proved that this wasn't the case. Doctor Ba'Eli, Sky's doctor at the time, had a theory that the Camarian sun's radiation, with the help of a virus that the USS Mercury 'contracted', made Sky's natural reproductive cycle change somewhat, and somehow caused the fertilization of one of her eggs.

Godfather

  • Hannibal Tiberious Parker
    • Parker was asked to be Faith's godfather by Sky soon after Faith was born. Parker, when he is around Sky, acts like her father. He is very protective of both mother and child. Many of the Embassy crew was under the impression that Faith was Parker's daughter - this is incorrect, as Faith was conceived before the physical relationship between Sky and Parker developed.

Godmother

  • Hannah Martinez
    • There for Sky's pregnancy and Faith's birth, Hannah was there for much of Faith's newborn life. Hannah is Sky's best friend - her first one on the Ronin after having a love/hate relationship with her - and Sky trusts her with her life. Should anything happen to Sky, Faith is to be taken straight to Hannah, regardless of the distance between them. Faith knows Hannah quite well, and Hannah knows Faith. Sky considers her as Faith's second mother.

Others

  • Angelo Valentino
    • Although not actually related to her, Valentino has been a main part of Faith's life. She took an immediate liking to the Marine, and simply did not care when he almost left Sky's home at the Embassy with Faith accidentally when he came to "visit". Valentino cares about Faith as if she was his own child.

Personal History

Born on the USS Thunder during a red alert, Faith was placed in her mothers arms just as the red alert subsided. Many officers were under the impression that Faith's birth was "jump-started" by a rough landing, but it was later found that it was just pre-term labor. She was born one month early, but still perfectly healthy, regardless on everything she went through in her mother's womb.

When her mother was taken off of maternity leave, Lila, her grandmother, took care of her, as did Hannah when Sky was busy with something else. But, eventually, Sky would start taking her to work in her sling.

Soon, StarFleet gave Sky an offer to take the Chief of Security position on the USS Avandar, and now that Sky reflects on it, she's glad that she did, mainly for Faith's wellfare. The Embassy, shortly after Sky's unannounced leaving, was attacked by Klingons. As communications were down, there was no confirmation as to how they were doing.

When Sky and Faith arrived on the Avandar, Faith was taken to the ship's day care facility, as Sky needed to get to work straight away. Since then, Sky had decided that she will spend the day there when she's working - which proved to be a good decision, especially when there were ship emergencies. Faith went with Sky and Sabor when they were transferred to the USS Vigilant.

Education

Faith spent much of her time at the USS Avandar's day care when Sky and Sabor were on duty. She excels in learning visually, while verbal-based learning is not her strong point at all.
