As you approach the door at the end of the corridor on the upper level, you notice in large, golden engraved

lettering "Historian/Archeologist Specialist Office/Archives".  You press the door chime and the door with the title swooshes ajar to reveal a rather large room, the walls made up of mostly bookcases and one large ceiling to floor viewing window that gives a rather pictureque view of the city and landscape as well as the compound itself.

The desk of the historian was in the center of this room and down two steps. It was cluttered with journals, papers and volumes of recent archives studied.  Backed up to this same desk, but on the other side, was a large computer, terminal and communications area.  This is where the historian would take her calls.
With the completion of the [[Embassy_of_Duronis_II/Grounds#Cultural_Annex|Cultural Annex]] near the back of the Embassy's grounds, the modest offices here in the main building have been cleaned up and renovated. Still located at the end of the hall on the upper level, the contents of the rooms have been relocated out to the Annex.

Just to one side of this sunken in desk area was a winding staircase that led to the main foyer below. At the bottom of the black metalic winding stair was a small coat room and a door that led out to the main foyer.  In this small coat room was a table with a locked drawer.  Only the Historian and the Ambassador had a key each.
Now when one enters they finds themselves in a small reception area with two padded metal seats against an inner wall facing a wooden reception desk, staffed by a Starfleet yeoman. The color scheme is whites and beiges, with light colored natural wood polished here and there. Polished hardwood floors feature a native Laudean woven carpet runner between the seats and the reception desk. A door situated in the same wall as the chairs lean against leads to the official office of the chief historian assigned to the Embassy.

In the office above the room was starchart enhancer that was incorporated inot the Historian's computer and would display any star system that was archived in the databanks.  To this stardate, it is the most accurate star chart in Star Fleet.  There were other electronics hidden behind certain volumes of certain races in the room but only the Historian knew of them. There was also a secret compartment, known only to the Historian that housed a comfortable couch, refrigerator and a small table, but no one know of this area but the Historian and the Ambassador.
This office is much more like a sitting room, featuring the same color scheme and use of wood as the outer office, a small desk in the far corner, and the large ceiling-to-floor viewing window that gives a rather picturesque view of the city and landscape, as well as the compound itself. Comfortable chairs and couches encircle a carpeted area and surround a glass topped coffee table. The two end walls are covered in bookshelves, and the inner wall opposite the window sports a massive painting several meters high and wide, done by a native Laudean. The painting is of ancient ruins on a hilltop at sunset. The Embassy's chief historian would use this room to receive special or important guests. Any actual work would be better accomplished in the offices and labs out in the [[Embassy_of_Duronis_II/Grounds#Cultural_Annex|Annex]].

Usually this room was asque with papers on the floor and journals littered all over but the Historian knew where eveyrthing was... usually.

With the completion of the Cultural Annex near the back of the Embassy's grounds, the modest offices here in the main building have been cleaned up and renovated. Still located at the end of the hall on the upper level, the contents of the rooms have been relocated out to the Annex.

Any actual work would be better accomplished in the offices and labs out in the Annex.
