What a time to get promoted.. Not only am I Lieutenant JG now, but also Assistant CMO, and I just lost the Captain. I'm not actually sure myself what just happened, other than the Captain's life just slipped through my fingers. There had to be something I missed or something more I could have done, but didn't think of in time. But thus far the problem has eluded me and the autopsy also presented more questions with absolutely no answers. What am I missing?

No doubt the sudden passing of Captain Thoran has left the crew in shambles and disbelief. Although there are no answers to why it happened or how it happened, the team that fought hard alongside myself to save the Captain's life preformed admirably. I have no doubt that they will preform just as admirably in any case in the future and that the crew of the Chin’toka will come out of this on the other side stronger than ever.

After the Captain's death. I haven't exactly been feeling myself. It's hard doing a job you've lost your sense of passion for. I can feel it deep within myself. If only I could do what I love with feeling again. I am slowly coming to terms that I didn't have a hand in his demise and am trying to find new ways to deal with it, while trying to navigate my relationship with Lephi. Things had gone a little south after his death, but are starting to look up now that I've had a chance to talk to Lephi. I'm not sure what I did in my life to deserve someone as beautiful and loving as she is, but I'm lucky to have her. Since moving to the Chin’toka, Lephi and I are currently living together. I hadn’t expected life or our relationship to move as fast as it has, but it's nice having someone to sleep next to and I've already grown to love her. Although I haven't exactly told her in those exact words. It's a bit terrifying and exciting all at the same time. Loving Lephi and the love I receive from her is a different kind of love. Nothing like I've ever experienced. She is certainly one of a kind and I don't plan on letting her go.

I've been aboard the Atlantis for 3 days now. Luckily I arrived during day 2 of Shoreleave, so I've taken the time to settle in. I've had run ins with several members of the crew so far, one of them quite literally. They have all been warm and welcoming and I have a feeling I'm going to like it here.

Life aboard the Atlantis had been uneventful until yesterday. Yesterday had started out normally. I had arrived for shift and dealt with patients all day, when a Ferengi officer walked in. I could tell Sickbay had made her uncomfortable and she asked if I would accompany her to the planet, Illara Prime, to a pub she had heard about. After hearing of recent events down on the planet that took place before I came, I was a bit leary of accepting her offer, but against my better judgment, I accepted. Everything had started out fine, except for the crowdedness of the area, and then we ran into another Starfleet officer en route to the pub, Wes Greaves. The officer was delivering a message to Ensign Lephi, the woman I accompanied down. Then we boarded and elevator. Once we stepped off everything went south. We were surrounded by men in blue robes and hoods were placed over our heads. Lephi tried to protect me, but Wes didn't seem to make a fuss about anything. He just went along with it. We wound up in some metal box of a room and escape seemed out of reach, until Lephi and Wes formed a idea to fight to the death. Being a doctor I wasn't too thrilled with the idea, but it was the only idea anyone had. So we rolled with it. They put on quite a show that I was convinced myself that they were probably too into the scheme. As two of the guards rushed in I was taken into the hallway. Without thinking I managed to subdue the guard that had taken me out there and as I returned to the door, Lephi and Wes were making their way out of it. Successful in subduing theirs as well. We located our things searching for an exit and had the Atlantis beam us out. As lucky as we got, it was still a quite terrifying experience and a lesson well learnt.

Well yesterday was quite a day. To back track a bit. We arrived to Earth sometime ago, turns out were transferring to the USS Chin’toka. I'm a bit sad to be leaving the Atlantis and I'm not fond of going back to the Par’tha Expanse, but I guess anything beats more shoreleave. It has come to grow a bit stale in all honesty. I'm currently in a relationship with Ensign Lephi, I can only imagine what our families will say considering I'm from Betazed and she is from Ferenginar. I'm sure it won't go over well as my Ma confirmed my suspicions when she dropped in suddenly on mine and Lephi’s trip down to Holland, Michigan. A trip I wasn't expecting to hit me so hard emotionally. But anyways. Ma dropped the bomb I'm to be married to someone else, a tradition Betazoids call the bonding. Then my brother surprised me on the holodeck. Thankfully he has my side in everything and is one person I know I can rely on and trust. So yesterday was full of surprises. And there is a party later tonight aboard our new ship. Hopefully it goes uneventful and isn't insanely crowded.
