The 5 pirates that agreed to be beamed to the Constitution are being held in an empty Cargo Room on the Saucer since the brig is in the Stardrive section. The plan is to bring them to Starbase 104 and hand them over to the authorities. | |||
After the battle is over, the Constitution crew is concerned about more pirate presence in the mine where their away team is still out of reach. Since the Stardrive is currently disabled they send shuttles with teams to head to the mines. Meanwhile, the Saucer Section is still capable of impulse flight and makes its way to the mine as well, but (as per an idea transmitted via a buoy from Saveron's team) will remain out of sensor range of the mine for a surprise element. T'Aven and Imas have utilized a huge mining drill to begin their escape from the cave. Along the way, they ran into a boulder problem and attempts to break it into smaller parts ended with a broken Vulcan hand, a hurt ego and after some phaser use smaller rock parts that then allowed them to continue with their way. | |||
Meanwhile, So'Mior as the only conscious member of the away team has been taken as a 'pet' by the Pirate Second in Command Shael for entertainment, bargaining chip and source of information. As they hear the drills she tries to pressure him into making them stop but the lack of communications make that impossible. He has the idea to set the explosive danger alarm off. Agreeing with that idea they make their way to the controls where Shael makes a mistake. She places down her disruptor to use both hands for the controls. A chance which So'Mior quickly jumps on and a fight begins. They struggle for dominance and Shael begins to enter his mind to control him when he doesn't willingly give up. She is almost successful when - until then unnoticed - Orin Dann hits her over the head with a fire extinguisher. Shael goes down and unceremoniously gets shot by Dann. He then takes care of So'Mior who has been affected to a degree and needs a Vulcan to fix his mind. They take off to the Maintenance sector where Dann believes the Drilling team will come out. | |||
