History
David was born six weeks premature in a mid-size town in Massachussets, Earth. He had a pretty average childhood, generally staying out of trouble. Both his parents were fishing boat captains.
His life turned upside down at the age of 16, however, when his mother disappeared at sea during a major storm. He quickly had to learn how to be responsible, as he would have to take care of his sister whenever his father went out to sea.
At the age of 18 and after visiting the SFMC stand at a local job fair, David decided to sign up for the Marines, driven by promises of great adventures. Being somewhat of an adrenaline junkie, he couldn't resist the holosuite demonstration, signing his contract right away.
Despite protests by his father and sister, David soon left for Basic Training, where he demonstrated an enormous leadership potential, quickly emerging as his class' leader.
He went on to train as a Reconnaissance Man, an specialty which he is very proud to have earned. His career with the SFMC has been outstanding so far, having quickly earned the respect of his superiors for his outstanding dedication and loyalty to his duty and to his units.
In 2385, under the guidance of his commanding officer, David took the OTA admission test and was accepted. Being a four-year veteran, David was appointed as his class' leader on his first year, during which he had the opportunity to display and develop his exceptional leadership skills. He held leadership positions through the four academy years, and thus he now considers himself ready for his comission.
Having previous enlisted experience means David has a unique outlook on his job and himself. He is usually considered very likeable - for an officer - and he always makes it a point to reward his subordinates whenever they give him reason to. He is also very open to critique, even from those below him, and will not hesitate to rethink his chosen course of action based on others' opinions and experiences.
