The task of a Civilian varies from being a bartender to a cook. Although this post seems unimportant, it is actually quite necessary for Starfleet officers to function smoothly and efficiently.
Simming this post is more difficult than others because there is little known about this position as compared to those of other duty posts. However, this leads to more creativity in the part of those simming this position. For example, when your ship is taken over by an alien species, have your character abducted or taken. This will lead to insight about your character as well as the alien species which will make for a good read.
