Carrier

A carrier is a type of starship specifically designed or designated for the transportation of small starships incapable of superluminal travel. The term carrier can be divided into two main types: dedicated carriers, generally with few weapons and weak shielding, and the other type being bigger warships which also had a substantial capacity for carrying starfighters.

Due to the pre-existing communication and coordination capabilities of carriers, they are often used as command ships. Additionally some other ships can be modified to serve as carriers.
