Character

Haf Callaghan began his space career working on colony vessels in his youth. He worked to transport colonists across the alpha and beta quadrants, helping them create settlements in some of the most inhospitable places imaginable. After a decade of this harsh and unforgiving work he decided to take his skills to somewhere more relaxed and entered Starfleet as an NCO. Assigned to the Utopia Planitia shipyards around Mars, Haf found himself responsible for allocating resources to a variety of projects, including ship repairs. Traditionally a role with a lot of 'perks', Haf quickly established a firm but fair 'no incentives' policy and garnered the respect of colleagues and visiting officers alike. However, his desire for adventure returned and he requested a transfer to the USS Ronin when that ship was docked in 2385. His administration experience led to him being assigned as Yeoman to the Chief of Operations, Jhen Thelev, and he followed Thelev when that officer transfered to be the XO of the USS Tiger and later to Starbase 118 Operations.

Due to his experience and knowledge, as well as his reputation of dealing with everyone equally and not suffering fools nor giving any preferential treatment, Haf is generally referred to by one and all as 'Mr Callaghan' as a mark of respect.

As part of his duty, Mr Callaghan takes it upon himself to keep the more pointless ship matters away from the Commander. Anyone trying to see Commander Thelev for something trivial will find themselves greeted by an steely gaze and an icy silence. Mr Callaghan tends not to speak a great deal and is quite capable of getting through entire days uttering only a handful of curt words.
