C'iri was born on planet Cait a year after her father had finally returned from the Dominion War that was plaguing both the Alpha and the Gamma Quadrants of space. In C'iri's younger years, she would always be absolutely enamored by the stories told to her by both her father and her grandfather about their exploits across space. She grew extremely interested in what was out there, as the world she had known at the time was planet Cait and nothing else. If she wasn't studying super hard in school, she was out with both her small group of friends and her younger sister in the vast and beautiful jungles on Cait. She climbed lots of trees and swung from any vine she could get her hands on as a child, much to the dismay of her mother and much to the enjoyment and laughter of her father. Although her grandfather was in his twilight years, she would still hang around with him and talk all day and all through the nights on planet Cait, occasionally teaching her the ins and outs of engineering and sparring with C'iri, and teaching her the best takedown moves in the art of both normal Martial Arts and Klingon Judo. When she found out that she was officially going to Starfleet Academy, her grandfather would be the first to know over anybody else in her family since they had a very tight-knit relationship with each other. Due to her being so soft-spoken at the time and her old friend group slowly beginning to dissipate because her other friends were more interested and invested in their own respective tribes, they couldn't be as invested in C'iri's long talks about Starfleet as a whole. He was her only true friend alongside her sister who knew all too well about how in love she was with the concept of joining the ranks. However, on the inside, she was super nervous about going, since she would be leaving everything she knew on Cait to go to her grandfather's planet, which she had never had the opportunity to visit due to both of her parents being so busy within Starfleet, especially her father, who was so caught up in his own career within Starfleet. Her father was eventually promoted to Admiralty after many years of loyal service, leaving her with her grandparents for most of her younger years. Shockingly, this didn't really affect her much, as she understood why her father had to be away for so long, and her mother would always make time to visit C'iri, along with her sister M'Triss, who would always reassure the two of them that their father truly did yearn to see them. However, this didn't work on her sister, and she began grow some contempt for their father, seeing it as him choosing his career over his family just to be out there giving orders to lower rank starfleet officers and gallivanting across space. This really strained her relationship with her sister, causing a huge argument to ensue between them right after her graduation, which deeply hurt her. C'iri had a pretty rough start during her first year at the Academy, not really speaking much to her fellow Cadets, which proved to be both a benefit and a massive negative. She was really on top of the work given to her but was very isolated from other people, spending most of her downtime just reading in her dorm and exercising alone. Luckily, things ultimately ended up looking up for C'iri during her second year at the Academy. She joined the Academy track team in early 2398 and slowly but surely began to come out of her shell that year, eventually winning second place at a track competition. It wasn't first place, but it was still a thrill for her to have competed. As a result, she slowly began to build a small little friend group from the people she had met and had also developed a really great friendship with another Caitian named S'Rall, which eventually developed into a more romantic relationship during their last remaining years as Cadets.
