The brunt of jokes and slurs because of his appearance, Abe’s childhood was not one he wanted to remember. His odd appearance and the syndicate’s disfavor with his mother, lead to Abe being taken from his mother at the age of nine. An Orion male with medium length, black hair and short stature, Abe was considered a freak of nature and treated as such. When he was ten years old, to get rid of this ‘freak’ as they called him, he was put into the shadow program where the Orion’s shaped their next generation of assassins—the ones that would eventually work for the syndicate. Not expecting Abe to return from this because of the programs 85% fatality rate, they assumed this was the last they would have to deal with him.
Surviving through years of intensive and deadly training, Abe finally found a way to escape. At the age of seventeen, surviving through seven brutal years in the shadow program, Abe used his new found skills to erase himself from the syndicate’s records, and made a clean break from the life of crime he was thrust into. After wondering around the galaxy, serving on many different ships and trying to go straight—he found himself the Captain of an old trading vessel in Gorn space. Through his years of traveling, and trying his best to forget his past, Abe had become proficient at covering his tracks, making contacts, and procuring hard to get goods. He had fallen back into the shady side of life. Dealing mostly with the Gorn G-32 station on the Gorn-Romulan border, he continually ran into problem after problem—A Gorn security officer on the station was out to make his life a living hell, and Abe made sure to return the favor.
After a few years on the Gorn-Romulan border, and staying one step ahead of the Gorn security officer, Abe had realized how far he had fallen again; he would not let himself become like the Orion’s he’d escaped from. Saying good bye to his crew, and disappearing from the Gorn, Abe went and joined Starfleet command hoping Starfleet would make him into something better, something worthwhile.
Learning what he could from the great men and women of Starfleet, Abe successfully turn a new leaf. Without any knowledge of his past—thanks to the carful covering of his tracks and name and background information change—Starfleet welcomed him with open arms. Hell bent on making a difference, Abe threw himself into his study’s and decided that he, with all his experience, would be best suited for a security or tactical posting. Working towards that goal, Abe was able to fly through Starfleet academy with an exemplary record. With his prior experiences—he has learned patience and coolness under fire, along with developing a quick mind.
As Abe started his Starfleet career, haunted by his past, he strives to remain a force for good—wanting to protect the good people of Starfleet, the people that were unlike the evil he had been a part of; his only fear—falling back into the darkness.
