From the first day they met aged nine, Max was hopelessly in love with Karey. The pair were always seen sat together, reading together or holding hands. As their teenage years arrived this innocent friendship developed rapidly into much, much more despite Karey's emerging narcissism and quiet manipulation of Max. Max was what she wanted at the time, on and off. And then on and off again, ditching him whenever a new boy took her fancy for a few days or a week or two. So completely had Max been reeled in he could not see any of this, and would not hear a bad word said about Karey no matter how many times she broke his heart. Their college years marked the low point, with Max being routinely humiliated, belittled and sometimes drunkenly hit by the woman he absolutely adored. At one month of age, Amelia was dumped at her Grandparents home by Karey who chose to swan off and live the life of parties and excess, swooping back into Max's life at random over the years whenever the fancy took her. | |||
