Aric comes from a large family, but since leaving his homeworld to join Starfleet, has remained a mostly a solitary individual. His romantic history consists of brief dalliances rather than long-term commitments, and he maintains few friendships.

History

Aric was raised on an Andorian colony, the middle son of a large family and the nephew of a prominent Starfleet admiral. As a youth, he had no aspirations to join Starfleet, but as his schooling finished, conversations with his uncle changed his mind.

He scored well at the Academy, though several of his tutors remarked that his tendency to bend the rules to breaking point may be a problem for the future. It was a tendency that remained with him, but served him extremely well until his most recent posting as XO aboard the USS Newell. Unknown to most, including Aric himself, his uncle ordered the details of his indiscretion classified and saw him promoted sideways to Deep Space 10, in order to keep him out of the way until memories have faded.
