History

The Arbazan have a strange history. Not one of wars and conflict but one of chaos and uncertainty. Out of this evolved the need for organization and as they organized they found that things moved more smoothly. Goods, food and other items would reach those who needed it. Buildings could be built safely if rules were followed.

Over more than a thousand years they continued to evolve this desire for efficiency and organization into not just a mania but a cultural if not genetic imperative. It became as much a part of them as breathing.

Government

They have one of the most complex, intertwined and confusing systems of government of any species within the Federation. It is also one of the largest employing over 5 million people in one job or another.

Description

They are mostly humanoid except with a vestigial ridge just above the eyebrow and along the nose and can be mostly distinguished in appearance by a high forehead hairline.

Physiology

While they look human their systems are radically different. A few examples of this is that they have a 6 valve heart and 4 lung pouches.

Psychology

A highly conservative semi-humanoid race known for their ultra-right, almost fascist, political and social policies, with a reputation for arrogance. They are easy to take offence, and find haven in boring, bureaucratic jobs or mundane research jobs. They are Federation members who (rumour has it) are a "sexually repressed" species.

Religion

If red tape could be considered a religion then that would be theirs. As it is they do not have any religious beliefs.

Mythology

No known myths or legends recorded in Federation records.

Society

They are an extremely structured people. Their are forms for everything. All requests are in triplicate, octoplicate or even worse the dreaded trioctoplicate.

Culture

They enjoy most art forms, although for many their ideas of acceptable music and art tend to lean heavily towards the conservative.

Customs

Like everything they do, even their customs are bound by the need for forms, requests and permits to be filled out, filed and then authorized.

Technology

They are about midrange in technology in comparison to other Federation member worlds.

Economy

They have an extremely well developed trade system and maintain good relations with their various trade partners. Bajor is one of their oldest tradeing partners.

Military

They have a small token military force that maintains the peace and safety of various transport and freighters traveling through their section of space. Other than this they rely on Starfleet for any protection that they might require.

Federation Intelligence Files

Their ambassador Taxco was one of four Arbazans visiting the Bajoran wormhole on a fact-finding mission circa stardate 46925. They can often be spotted on Deep Space 9.
