The Setting

Amity Outpost is located in the Delta Quadrant, and is the most remote Federation outpost ever constructed. Unlike most other postings, Amity Outpost is a facility operated by the Federation Diplomatic Corps, not by Starfleet, and the Starfleet personnel assigned there are under the command of the outpost's chief of mission, Ambassador Rivi Vataix.
