Lieutenant Allan Thomas was the leader of a five person science team that was assigned to XB3 in 2370. The Science team left Deep Space 17 in the modified runabout USS Sava, which crashed on arrival. Lt Thomas sent a distress call, but the call was not recieved until 2385, when the USS Tiger was sent to investigate.
