Background

Her parents had married in their early 20s and had wanted lots of children, but after a lot of pain and nearly giving up, Alexia was finally born. Alexia was their only child and was born on colony Petroc in the community of Lawrence. They were very protective of her and very strict. She had only left the colony twice and both times were on school trips to Earth (England, Ireland and America) to learn their history.

As a child she had a dog Lola and her parents had kept cats for years.

Alexia was ill during her early years and decided as she got older she wanted to be nurse like all the kind people who looked after her. Her father tried to persuade her become a doctor, but finally accepted her dream. Her mother said it would fit better with motherhood. Her path was set studying nursing in the city while living at home, join the practice, get married and have children.

During her teen years, Alexia secretly rebelled against her parents rules. At 17, she secretly applied to the academy not wanting to upset her parents. She was accepted and only told them a few weeks before she was due to leave. Her father was angry and her mother disappointed, but they let her go. She wanted to see what was out there. They still hold out hope she will return home soon and start a family. Her father holds a place in his practice for her.
