Starfleet Medical Corps
Star Fleet counselors believe strongly in and respect the dignity of all life forms. They are committed to increasing the knowledge of behavior of all life forms. Their primary duty is the maintenance of the crew’s mental health, including but not limited to clinical assessment, psychological testing, crisis intervention, individual psychotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, marital/couples therapy, personal counseling, career counseling and preventative services.
The counselor is also responsible for advising the command staff of all matters pertaining to behavior relevant to the current mission. This is typically done upon command staff request. All counselors are responsible to intervene regarding these matters when the greater welfare is deemed to be at risk. While undertaking these duties they must reasonably protect those who seek their services, without endangering the ship/station/post, crew members or personnel, or civilians.
The counselor is responsible for the ability of all crew, personnel, and civilians to carry out their duties without hindrance of mental illness or psychological conflict. This responsibility is achieved through the regular examination of the crew for psychological wellness.

Favorite Spot: She enjoys quiet corners away from bustle.
Habits: Dana is a bit clumsy so she has a habit of trying to avoid anything fragile and on tables.
Mannerisms: Has a friendly yet quiet nature. Extrovert, yet at times can be introverted especially during high stress times. Alexa is a little clumsy at times.
Religion/Spiritual Devotion: Neither.
Likes: Asian food from Earth, a good laugh.
Dislikes: She dislikes early mornings, cold coffee...and hypocrites.
Ambitions and Goals: Her ambition is to be Chief Medical officer one day or head counselor.

Musical instruments: Risian lute, having picked up the instrument while on one of her very first holidays to the holiday planet. She is still learning and practices on a regular basis.

Running: Dana enjoys running on her off time, gives her a chance to clear her mind and senses. She has a holodeck program of a running track created by a friend at the adacemy.
Intellectual hobbies
Ethnobotany: Dana has always been fascinated by the works of Dr. Beverley Crusher. Following in her footsteps Dana continues to do her own mini experiments on the botany and the human environment around it.

Dalyn Dana, political figure in the Redaria Political party on Rutia IV as well as Minister of arts and Culture for Rutia.
Father
Dana has a close relationship with her father. Often confiding in him on alot of personal matters. He was however not to thrilled with her joining Starfleet and it has still cause some bitterness between them.

Dana and her mother have never been close, Dana often views her mother to easily lead by her father and his political views and unable to see the broader picture.
Elizabeth and Tyra Dana, Tyra is a school teacher like her mother and Elizabeth is married to a prominent political figure on Rutia IV.
Siblings
Elizabeth and Tyra are both older than their younger sister, and even though she had forged a good career for herself often dote and treat her still like a child. Both very much involved in the politcal and social spectrum of Rutia they also could not understand Dana's eagerness to leave there homeworld and join Starfleet.
