Relationships

Ensign Lina Dahlquist, Roomate

Alessandro's current roommate. The two got to know each other during a shore leave on Andoria, and have yet to find out much about each other. Things seem to be going well, and an interesting relationship could be born.

Ensign Holly Berry, FriendDuring his years at medical school, Alessandro met Holly at counselling classes. A friendship quickly developed, although the temperaments of the two cadets were quite different. They do not hear from each other very often, but when they do, it is as if they have never stopped meeting, just like at the academy.

Background

Alessandro Ferrucci was born on 27 December 2374 in Florence, Italy. His father, Francesco Ferrucci, is a biotechnological researcher at the Centro unito Italiano di ricerca biomedica (IUBR), and his mother, Caterina Fabbri, is a pianist and expert in xenomusicology. His younger sister is studying to be an engineer at Starfleet Academy. Alessandro was born in a rather peaceful family environment, with both parents encouraging him to pursue his interests, and in a very historic city in Italy. He grew up not knowing what his path would be until, at the age of 17, his father took him to his workplace and showed him what he worked with every day.

He suddenly became interested in biomedical sciences and decided to enrol at Starfleet Academy to pursue a career as a doctor. He loves music and has always been fascinated by his mother's field. But he felt it wasn't the right path for him, as it didn't give him the spark of knowledge and curiosity that the sciences typically do.

During his studies, he worked on a research project using some data sent to him from his father's laboratory. He discovered a new human gene, S80-3, which is found in people exposed to certain levels of ionising radiation. This gene can interact with fibroblasts and stimulate the growth of collagen. Alessandro is currently working on developing a device to force the S80-3 mutation to allow tissue repair after injury.

” Serving in Starfleet is not without a risk, especially when you have a knack for being around explosive events. Thanks to the good care and immediate reaction of our medical staff, this person had a complete recovery. ”
First Contact Ribbon 240103.06
USS Gorkon
” One of the discoveries made during this mission is one Starfleet holds precious—first contact with a life form. Despite the initial difficulties that always come when two species are so different, our team was able to find common ground and work together. “
Explorer's Ribbon 240103.06
USS Gorkon
” The reason many of us joined Starfleet was, to quote one of our most famous captains, “to boldly go and seek out new life and new civilisations.” Our mission was one of rescue and science, and many of the officers who took part made discoveries which scientists of all disciplines will research and investigate for decades to come. “
