	History

Alarra was born as second child to Aatred and Stavara Lavot to a what could be called middle-class family. She was raised on Betazed in the traditional Betazoid way, which meant that her parents were gentle and understanding though also quite stern. She did not have to put much effort into learning to do very well at school. Alarra developed her telepathic powers a bit later than other Betazoids, but managed to master them well. Her telepathic abilities are not the strongest compared to other Betzoids. She can communicate and also read minds and thoughts of others but usually only within a certain vicinity. Her empathic abilities are much stronger which helped her a lot in her training for couselor. Alarra is quite curious and it took her quite some time to keep the urge to just read other people's minds and thoughts under control. Sometimes when she is tired or in situations of stress she might do that more or less unintentionally. The young Betzoid woman can be quite impulsive and do things without thinking of the consequences first. One other thing which she tries to avoid at least in professional counseling situations is commenting in an ironic or even sarcastic way, but in other situations she cannot guarantee that she won't do it.
