Most of Vadan's history is unknown, and he has never given a full account of his life. El-Aurians are known to be great storytellers, though they are often guarded with the exact details of their lives. | |||
Vadan claims to have been a farmer and artist for the first few hundred years of his life, mostly staying on the El-Aurian homeworld and living a simple life. He came to the Federation in 2293, fleeing the Borg invasion that destroyed him homeworld. Vadan spent several decades on Vulcan, one of the few non-Vulcans to be permitted to attend the Vulcan Science Academy. He studied studying under many of the preeminent scholars of that planet, including Dr. T'Pan, a subspace theoretician who would go on to become the director of the Academy.
