- Filed Charge: Conduct Unbecoming an Officer
- Incident: LTJG Kawakame Shin was caught engaging in inappropriate sexual activity with a Crewman in the Brig while on duty.
- Disciplining Officer: Captain Mei'konda, Lt.Commander Lael Rosek
- Disciplinary Action Taken: Discipline was implimented by the Captain and the FO.
- LTJG Kawakame Shin was ordered to report to engineering o assist with cleaning the plasma manifolds and he was assigned to the gamma shift to serve as extra security for the prisoner Warvan. - Lael Rosek
- For two weeks LTJG Kawakame Shin was restricted to quarters when not on duty. - Mei'konda
- A demerit was entered into LTJG Kawakame Shin's permanent record. - Mei'konda
- Disciplining Officer Remarks: Captain Mei'konda noted that the exemplary performance displayed previously in LTJG Kawakame Shin's service was the major factor that prevented a demotion in this incident.
