(Background)

Born in Spain, Earth. He is the second son in a family of 4 members. Carl showed interested in electronic systems and propulsion since his childhood. This led him to study math and programming with interest, as well as physics. His mentors at school encouraged him to pursuit a career in Science and Engineering, where he could design and test new equipment, but he wanted to fill the sense of adventure in space, and not only to stay on Earth, inside a research facility.

He entered Starlet Academy with an interest in Components Engineering as specialization, and obtained pretty good grades in that major. In order to stay in line with his second passion, he decided to also take a course on Propulsion Systems but as listener student, in parallel to his main interest, being aware that this may add 2 more years to his graduation date. It was not easy for him, but at the end he finished his academic years with a solid formation in electronics and Warp engines. As a minor, he shown interest in Helm and Navigation.

Carl describes himself as a bookworm. Always trying to get acquainted with the latest technical details available. His room mates always complained about the several PADDS “distributed” everywhere in the room, and also about his late-night reading habits. Although in good physical shape, his body complexion was not entirely athletic, and slightly bald. From his Hispanic roots, a certain accent is noticeable, specially when pronouncing the 'R' and 'S'.

Sometimes temperamental, and prone to speak his mind openly when discussing engineering topics, he finds commanding officers a little bit intimidating. That was put in manifest during his Zero-G training, when he reacted by vomiting inside his EVA suit twice, after the Training Officer pushed him hard to execute the required maneuvers. Since then, he developed a “sixth sense” about nearby gravitational anomalies by means of his stomach.

One way to overcome this stressful situations is the ingestion of caffeine, which made him strongly dependent on that beverage. It was not uncommon seeing him having more than 4 rounds in a day.

Service History

Below you'll see a table which contains images for rank pips - you can change the word 'Gold' for 'Red' or 'Teal' or one of the other colors listed earlier to match your duty post. Again, not all ranks are available in all colors and/or pipstyles. You can change pips from the default to a different style such as DS9, STO, or Slanted by adding DS9, STO, or Slanted after the color.

SIM Archive

Replace the links below with links to your own SIMs that you find memorable or are important to your character - you may want to add more as your time with the fleet goes on! You can find a complete archive of sims here at the SIM Archive.
To end your bio, we're going to drop in some code here for your ship's crew template, which should appear at the bottom of your bio and will help members of the fleet easily browse other bios of your shipmates. Change the name of the ship below to whatever the name of your character's ship is, unless of course you've been assigned to the USS Gemini! Don't forget the letter suffix for your ship if yours has one (such as the USS Darwin-A).
