Lieutenant (JG) Khatri Darshana is an Iridian engineer and long range weapons specialist, currently serving aboard the USS Gorkon as part of the 451st Ranger Squad.

- Distinguishing features: Darshana has a Y'm'ae Vrd'fy -- a blue cultural tattoo -- that covers her back from the nape of her neck to her mid-thighs.
Personality
Reserved and studious, Darshana has a drive to understand the way things work. While she has strong powers of reasoning, she is rarely interested in abstract theories and concepts if she can't see a practical use for them. Rather, she prefers putting her aptitude for logical analysis to practical use, and enjoys taking things apart to see how they work.
Though quiet and patient, at her core she is a fearless and adventurous spirit. She enjoys travelling and experiencing new cultures, and has tried many extreme sports. She prefers to "do" and can get frustrated when relegated to desk work for a long period of time. Adaptable and spontaneous, she is calm and capable in a crisis situation, with an excellent sense of expediency and grasp of details which enables her to make quick, effective decisions.
Darshana likes and needs to spend time alone, where she can decompress and sort things out in her mind. She avoids making judgements based on her personal values, feeling that decisions should be impartial and based on fact. This inclination mean she is often unaware of she is affecting others, and she is not naturally tuned in to her own feelings; she can struggle to distinguish between an emotional reaction and a value judgement, which can lead to her distrusting her own feelings and trying to ignore them. Left to simmer in this way, and she can be prone to emotional outbursts, or feel compelled to share her feelings with others (sometimes inappropriately).
Overall, she is a quiet and gentle soul; honest, optimistic and uncomplicated in her desires, loyal to her equals, and generous, trusting and receptive with her friends.
Hobbies and Pastimes
- Velocity: Enjoying the sport since her early teens, she often plays a couple of times a week.
- Diving: Thanks to her Iridian biology, aquatic pursuits come easily to her and she enjoys sea diving, particularly the exploration of underwater wrecks and ruins.
- Knitting: A pastime she picked up from her grandfather, she enjoys creating brightly-coloured and intricate blankets in the traditional style of the Khatri khanate.

Personal History
Darshana was born in Medara, on the planet Betazed, to a pair of Iridian diplomats who served at the species' embassy. Both of her parents were killed in 2374, during the Dominion Occupation the planet. Darshana was a toddler at the time, and remembers virtually nothing of them, or the circumstances surrounding their deaths. She was taken into the care of a Betazoid family for the duration of the occupation, and has kept in loose contact with them over the years.
Once Betazed was freed, she was taken into the care of her paternal grandparents and returned to the homeworld and her new home in Sajhan. Her grandfather the operator of an off-world merchant business, and her grandmother a senior politician in their khanate, Darshana lived a relatively cosmopolitan lifestyle, exposed to wide variety of people and cultures. It was evident from early on that she had a sense of curiosity and adventure; asking the captains and crew of her grandfather's merchant ships for stories, and creeping off to explore on her own.
An overachiever from a family of overachievers, it came as surprise to no one when she announced her intention to join Starfleet, and her grandparents wholly supported her attempts. She gained entry on her first attempt, and after graduation she was approached by the Rangers.
