:Kteer was born in Capitol City of J'naii, where most of J'naii's political function is located. In nir childhood, ne never questioned J'naii's attitude towards gender.

:Ne is an elder child of Telar and Miroc. Telar, one of nir parent is an accountant working for an interplanetary trading company based in the Capital City of J'naii. Despite nir constant dealings with people from other planets, ne have shown absolutely no interest in learning their languages, cultures, or technologies. Simply put, an ordinary person.

:Miroc, Kteer's other parent, on the other hand, is a trained botanist who seeks perfection in knowledge of plant life. Ne was the one who has taught the delight and intricacy of science in general. Ne supported Kteer's entrance into the J'naii Academy of Science. There, ne could pursue nir interest in astrophysics that, ironically, led to nir departure from J'naii.

:Kteer has a younger sibling named Tinor. Ne is now enrolled in J'naii Academy of Science as well, following nir elder sibling's footsteps. Kteer is not sure about Tinor's goal as a student of science. But, ne is ready and willing to support whatever Tinor does in the future. Ne regrets not having discussed nir true reason for departure from J'naii

:In the year 2387 (age 19), while studying astrophysics at J'naii Academy of Science, ne encountered a group of Starfleet scientists visiting nir home planet researching Null Space first discovered by the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise in 2368. After spending months with those scientists who identify themselves with either male or female gender, ne grew less and less wary of those with genders. As a result, ne started to question J'naii's policy toward a person with gender. However, for fear of punishment as a deviant criminal against state policy, ne could never openly express nir opinion while ne was on nir homeworld. Because of this fear, he became passive and fearful of everything. Ne wanted to shake off such traits by removing nimself from the world that limits nir future possibilities.

:Kteer wasn’t considered as an outcast like Soren seen in the episode “The Outcast” or Admiral Renos since ne never openly opposed J’naii’s policy against gender on nir homeworld; however, while keeping nir own gender neutrality, ne secretly started to support ones having a gender. Yet, after spending years helping those hiding from authorities, ne came to the conclusion that this society will never change without strong outside influence. So, after months of consideration, ne finally decided to leave J'naii upon graduation, dreaming of one day Joining the Starfleet.

:Now as a Starfleet Officer, ne is able to express nir own idea openly. As a consequence, ne may be in the future considered as a deviant criminal on J’naii. Ne may never return to nir homeworld. But, ne can live with that. Ne’s ready to call StarBase 118 home. Living in a much larger, liberalistic society with so many possibilities presenting themselves, ne’s looking forward to seeing undiscovered part of nir personality.
