Reserved is the perfect word to describe her. It is not so much shyness as a certain, quite pushed, modesty which has one hand around her throat. Emmanuelle has picked up the habit to not necessarily speak unless she is spoken to. The latter is as good a quality as it is an annoying quirk. When it comes to work, one might call her quite professional. In personal life, however, people often tell her to speak more, voice her opinion, give a piece of her mind. Such mannerisms being the consequences of her father's discipline, and her brother's cold exterior. She has the habit of fidgeting with the material of her clothing whenever she is faced with an odd situation, as well as staring passionately at her shoes. Blushing is also part of the story. Tell her a nasty tale, and she'll turn scarlet. The same goes when encountering someone of an obviously higher rank than her on a time other than the working one. This said, yes she is indeed reserved - still, this doesn't make her a recluse. She's never been one.
