::T'Pen leaned over the small desk and tapped the comm key.::
T'Pen: =/\=Send it through Lieutenant.= /\=
::Seconds later the computer screen changed from the STARFLEET UFOP symbol to that of a letter from SFHQ. T'Pen read it for some time, then steepled her fingers, as she leaned back in her chair.::
T'Pen: =/\=Computer. Open a channel to the U.S.S. CHALLENGER.= /\=
Computer:=/\ =Working. ...=/\=
::The screen changed once again and the bridge of the AKIRA Class starship U.S.S. CHALLENGER appeared. As T'Pen's hearts fluttered for a moment, she saw her husband, Lt. Colonel deMarc, along with the reset of her Bridge Crew. Some looked more haggard than others, but that was the nature of the beast, when you sit in a war ship and defend the front lines.::
T'Pen: =/\=I hope that I haven't called at a bad time, Colonel?=/\=
deMarc: =/\=response= /\=
T'Pen: =/\=Good. If you would gather the staff, I have something to say to all of you.=/\=
::At that exact moment, Lt. Ko Ket, T'Pen's personal assistant exited the CRR (Captain's Ready Room) with a box in tow. When the Bolian was in place, T'Pen cleared her throat and looked at her crew.::
T'Pen: =/\=I wish that I could be there with you today. But my duties lie on the other side of the galaxy. But if you will bear with me, I'll make this as quick and painless as possible.=/\ = ::She gave a slight chuckle.:: Ensign Syrak front and center.
::As Ensign Syrak made his way to the front, Ket opened the box and lifted out a small object.::
T'Pen: =/\=Ensign Syrak, in all my years of service, I've never seen a Vulcan with more drive, more vigger and more tenassity. Today STARFLEET and the members of the U.S.S. CHALLENGER are proud to present you with the TOSMA 1 Medal.=/\=
Syrak: =/\=response= /\=
T'Pen: =/\=Don't go anywhere just yet, Ensign. ::Ket takes another object from the box:: In the time that you've been with us Ensign, you've kept us on our toes. Your ability to twist a mission and surprise us all has earned you the right to wear a second medal. STARFLEET and the members of the U.S.S. ::Toni applauded the young Lt. Junior Grade accompanied by the whoops and yells of the crew.::

::As the crew woops and hollers, Ket pulls out another object.::

::As the young Security Chief comes forward, T'Pen can see the anticipation on everyones faces.::
T'Pen: =/\=Lt. Readdy, admittedly we could not stay safe in the wilds of space without a good security officer. Someone who's dedication to job and crew go above and beyond. This year we've seen you go from a raw Ensign to a LT.jg as well as from Security Officer to Security Chief. Your abilities in and out of sim have been excellent. Today STARFLEET and the members of the U.S.S. CHALLENGER are proud to present you with the Barclay Bead. Haxxah to Mr. Readdy!=/\=

T'Pen: =/\=Lt.CMDR Reid cannot be with us today as he continues to recover from prior action while serving on the CHALLENGER and I know I speak for everyone when I say we wish him a speedy recovery. With that being said, Commander Reid has, though limited in his physical abilities, been a dedicated member of the crew through hardships and suffering. Today STARFLEET and the members of the U.S.S. CHALLENGER are proud to present Lt. Commander Reid with the Purple Star. Hazzah for Mr. Reid!=/\=

T'Pen: =/\=Lt.CMDR Jaxx, front and center. Councilor, besides keeping our heads on straight and our minds clear for active duty, you have the uncanny ability to work your magic with our wiki site, our OOC list and mentor new officers as they come on board. Today STARFLEET and the crew of the U.S.S. CHALLENGER are proud to present you with two awards which are closely related to each other, but are none-the-less tangible expressions of our gratitude for your work above and beyond. T'Pen:=/\=Major West, First Officer of the Marine Battalion on our ship, is currently away from the CHALLENGER in IRL military service with the British Royal Navy. This year, Major West has been a constant contributor to the CHALLENGER and her crew. His dedication to the crew is above and beyond the call of duty. Today STARFLEET and the crew of the U.S.S. CHALLENGER are proud to present Major West with the Sheathed Sword. Hazzah for Mr. West!=/\=

T'Pen: =/\=Lt.CMDR Barnes, front and center. Commander Barnes has been a strong proponent for exploration and creative development for new races and cultures. The mission he wrote earlier this year and then played out, is a testament to his abilities as a story teller. Today STARFLEET and the crew of the U.S.S. CHALLENGER are proud to present you with the Nebula Bar. Hazzah to Mr. Barnes!=/\=

T'Pen: =/\=Commander Turner, front and center. Several months ago, we had the pleasure of pinning another solid pip on Dr. Turner's collar solidifying her promotion and accomplishments towards Commander. Now it is my priviledge to present Commander Turner with an award for her "sub" plot abilities. It is no surprise that Commander Turner writes for not just one but a whole gaggle of members of the CHALLENGER crew. When there's a lull, you can be assured that Toni will fill the void with a PNPC or NPC plot. Today STARFLEET and the crew of the CHALLENGER are proud to present you with the B-Plot Award. T'Pen: =/\=Commander Frazier front and center. Earlier this year, the CHALLENGER was shot half way across the universe and into the hands of the Borg. While some of the crew battled the onslaught onboard the CHALLENGER, Commander Frazier, his elite troopers and members of the CHALLENGER crew, assaulted the Borg on their own turf. Essentially destroying their cube, Frazier and teams were able to get back safely to us. Today STARFLEET and the members of the U.S.S. CHALLENGER are proud to present Commander Frazier with the Scotty Cross. Hazzah for Mr. Frazier! =/\=

T'Pen: =/\=Lt. Colonel deMarc, front and center. This year, Colonel deMarc has served as First Officer of the CHALLENGER. Not always an easy task, especially when you have me for a CO. But none-the-less, Colonel deMarc has strived to see to it that every member of the crew is contacted, informed and ready to serve no matter the situation. Today STARFLEET and the crew of the U.S.S. CHALLENGER are proud to present you with the Silver Palm. Hazzah to Mr. deMarc!=/\=

T'Pen: =/\=I'd like to congratulate you all. It has been a pleasure to work with each of you this past year and your accomplishments are presented here. For those of you who did not receive an award this year, now is the time to begin striving towards the prize. The 2009 awards ceremony is just around the corner. So begin working now.
