Wood, Daniel
- Support as nominator: Believe this page is how a character page should be, relevant to the character, as well as providing enough historic and present information about the character to build a picture of them. As well as keeping track of the Independence's mission and what the character did to contribute on the mission. --Danielwood7 16:08, 11 May 2008 (EDT)
Betazoid
- Support as nominator: As far as I'm aware, this is all original research (as opposed to just copied/pasted). With such a wealth of information, and so well-written, it definitely deserves nomination. --Wolf /talk page 20:55, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
Independence-A Crew History
- Support as nominator: Believed to be a comprehensive list of every PC to have served on the most recent Independence. Stays on topic, links to pages for every PC, includes a list of every promotion ceremony. Not sure where this can be improved at present. - Lt. Salak Talk 21:47, 7 April 2008 (EDT)
- Oppose: Interesting, but I'm not entirely sure we want to get in the habit of promoting lists as featured articles. Shouldn't it be more about written content? --Wolf /talk page 00:13, 23 April 2008 (EDT)
- Wikipedia has a separate process for promoting Featured Lists, but we prob don't have enough articles to do such ourselves yet I'd guess. Still, a list can take as much effort, or even more effort to compile than a page full of text. It also provides a useful resource looking into the history of the ship, and thus part of the history of the group too. - Lt. Salak Talk 00:21, 23 April 2008 (EDT)
- That's true. And SB118's article was not entirely different. Still, while I realize it requires effort to put together, seems like there's not much that can be improved upon for it. Don't know, I guess I'll have to think about it more... --Wolf /talk page 00:36, 23 April 2008 (EDT)
- Support with caveat - What about separate featured statuses? There could be regular FAs, like the Karawati page, or Salak and Kolk profiles, that could be shown on the front page and are recognized for their original content ... BUT there could also be a special nomination (Featured Content?) that recognizes things like the Indy crew history and other lists, etcetera for the amount of work and research gone into their creation. That way, the spotlight on the FAs and their content would spotlight the front page and the FA category, but great list-y articles would still be recognized. (I'm a little tired, so if my phraseology is completely off, I'll try to clarify later.) Onewhoisseveral 01:54, 28 April 2008 (EDT)
- Well not every FA will make the front page I'd expect. We're promoting roughly 1 FA a week, but the front page is an Article of the Month. We could exclude lists from being front page, but not too sure about that. When does an article become a list, where's the line? - Lt. Salak Talk 05:03, 28 April 2008 (EDT)
- Indeed, AotM and Featured Articles are different -- all AotM are Featured Articles, but I suspect that not all FA will end up as AotM. The question remains whether lists without any kind of prose content are applicable for featured status. --Wolf /talk page 00:04, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
- I suppose, then, that lists wouldn't have the first attribute of the four necessary for a featured article - it isn't "well-written," simply because there's nothing written. It's comprehensive and pretty to look at, but there's not any real original content. The point of instituting the FA system seems, to me, to be to showcase well-written articles to a larger audience (group and/or non-group members), I think there's too much of a "so what?" factor with vessel-specific lists to seriously consider them as Featured Articles. USS Ursa Major
- Support as nominator: Quite frankly, the best length of any currently active ship page, best layout, nice and tidy. Stereotypical example. Nothing spectacular, just the relevent details and a few pretty pics. As for static, well my adding the FAC template was the first edit to the page in a year and a half. - Lt. Salak Talk 20:42, 7 April 2008 (EDT)
- Oppose: Needs a better picture (that banner is meant to go on the main page of the site, not on a white-background, like here), and the motto box needs to be color-coded better. --Wolf /talk page 20:52, 7 April 2008 (EDT)
- Comment: Are all motto boxes gray now? Seems like they clash. If we're going to go with gray, why not coordinate the color with the purple of the fleet box/nav panels? --Wolf /talk page 01:46, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
- Comment: Far from it! They're only gray usually if the little pic has a gray border around it, which I can't make transparant. See the Eagle motto bar, the Ronin motto bar for examples of coloured ones. Discovery's is pink! I like the colour a motto bar can add to a page so feel it would be a shame if all were gray. Tend to either co-ordinate it with the motto bar pic (hence the pink for Discovery, orange for Ronin), or find a colour no other active ship uses. - Lt. Salak Talk 06:14, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
- Comment: Motto bar colour changed to a light blue to reflect the nacelles, but the dark edge of the pic doesn't help it. There's Image:Sovereign.jpg going unused but it doesn't work on that page. Other options are the rotating one on the Titan page or finding a new pic. - Lt. Salak Talk 07:01, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

USS Independence
- Support as Nominator: About the perfect length in my view for a ship page. Acts as a portal for the pages relating to the ship, as linked from the menu on the right. Has all the relevent menus for a PC ship; the usual nav on the right, motto at the top, boiler at the bottom and pic on the left. Static given it's been decommissioned. Don't like the red link in the nav but otherwise a nice example. - Lt. Salak Talk 20:36, 7 April 2008 (EDT)
- Personally I would change the motto bar color to match the ship nav template, seeing as how it's not active anymore, but otherwise I like the article. --Wolf /talk page 20:38, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
